Lansdowne is a hill
station in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state in India,
Original name of
Lansdowne town was Kaludanda ,As Kalun means black and Danda
means Hill in local language. Lansdowne hill station was
named after Lord Lansdowne in year 1887. Lansdowne is
surrounded by thick Oak & Blue Pine forests, Though
Lansdowne is not located on very high altitude ( 5550 ft
ASL) but it has pleasant atmosphere in summers, Though
winters are very cold and one can enjoy snow fall here.
Lansdowne is training centre of Garhwal Rifles.
Lansdowne is known as silent and peaceful hill station which
is also nearest hill station from national capital Delhi.

Lansdowne has main attraction as its forest , hill views and
peaceful invironment, Lansdowne is a neat & clean hill
station , It has attractions like Parade ground ,
Tip N Top, famous for its awesome views of Shivaliks,
Santoshi Mata Temple , Darwan Singh Museum, Bhulla Lake
where one can enjoy boating and see some plants in nursery,
Bhulla lake is an artificial lake.
Other attractions are Lover's Point , St. Mary's Church Etc.
Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple , Bhim Pakora ( Bhim Pakora is a
stone & vibrates if some one touches it), Bhairav Garhi Etc.
